What parents think

We undertook independent research among parents to ask them what they thought about Ash Green Scouts.

  • The most important reason why their children join Scouts is that we offer fun and adventure.
  • The second most important reason is that their child gets to try new experiences.
  • Parents see Community Service, Conservation and the opportunity to win badges and awards as very important to them.
  • 95% of parents report that that the learning of traditional Scout skills such as camping, fire lighting, cooking and map and compass are also important.
  • 100% of parents agree that their child enjoys attending Ash Green Scouts and that we offer a balanced programme of activities.
  • 100% also have confidence in the leadership team and 96% agree with the statement that their child's welfare and safety is of paramount importance to the Leader team.
  • In terms of activities, more than half of all parents want us to teach them cooking and survival skills while one third want us to run more specialist badge courses and sporting activities.
  • When asked, 100% of parents said they were proud that their child is a member of Ash Green Scouts.
